Sacral Chakra – The Second energy center
The sacral chakra, or second chakra or sexual chakra, helps to inform how we relate to our emotions and the emotions of others, whether sexual affective, as well as family or friends. It also governs creativity, sexuality and represents the center of sexual energy. The element of this chakra is water, which also purifies and cleanses. This manifests itself on the physical plane with the elimination of toxins from the kidneys and bladder and, emotionally, by eliminating emotions such as fear, anger, resentment and much more.

Hinduism and Taoism teach, that the sexual energy of this chakra must be transmuted to develop spirituality and higher spiritual awareness by moving it into the larger chakras.
One of its main harmonious characteristics is to bring us personal and relationship emotional health. This chakra can also manifest creativity and the way to enjoy life. Dancing and singing are excellent activities to strengthen this chakra. And in relation to the sexual, we are aware that we are in permanent movement activating the balance of the feminine and the masculine in our feelings, attitudes and desires.
The flawed functioning that usually begins in adolescence creates insecurity, and these impulses and desires are not always supported and guided. Consequently, it ends up generating repressed instincts, exaggerated sexual fantasies and dependencies, among many other misrepresentations. It is also at this time that we begin to create beliefs in affective relationships that accompany us throughout our lives. Here too, creativity loses its potential and children’s admiration for the wonders of life ends up making no more sense.
The under-functioning of this chakra often appears in childhood, almost always with a lack of physical affection. Next comes puberty, which generates a tendency to accentuate this lack and as a result there is a lack of self-worth, sexual coldness and repression of emotions in general.
